It will be at least five years before The Elder Scrolls 6 is released. That is what Xbox CEO Phil Spencer says during the Federal Trade Commission’s lawsuit against Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
During the lawsuit, Phil Spencer was asked on which platforms The Elder Scrolls VI will be released, writes IGN. The Xbox head states that this is still unclear, partly because the game is so far away that it is not at all clear which platforms will be available by then. “The game is being made by the same team that is currently putting the final touches to Starfield. So we’re talking about a game that is probably five-plus years away.”
In an interview from 2021 Spencer seemed to confirm that The Elder Scrolls VI will in any case not be released for a PlayStation console. According to The Verge, however, he now states that he no longer knows. “When I said it I believed it to be true, but I can’t recall a public statement now.”
The Elder Scrolls 6 will be the sequel to 2011’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Bethesda announced the game back in 2018 with a short teaser, but no further details about the game have been given so far.
