Google would not call its second foldable smartphone the Pixel Fold 2, but the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. With this, the manufacturer would like to harmonize its naming across the entire line-up.
This fall, Google wants to release four smartphones, notifies Android Authority. These are the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Google is thus sliding its foldable smartphone into its regular line-up, something that other manufacturers usually do not do. Samsung has the separate Galaxy Z line for foldable phones, Lenovo has Motorola razr for that and OnePlus the Open.
The site also found clues in software for the new naming. The Pixel Fold was released in the spring last year. So it looks like the second version will be released later in the year. The Pixel 9 phones are scheduled for October and November, the period when Google normally releases its smartphones. There have been rumors for months about the Pixel Fold 2 .
