Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said during an interview with India’s CNBC-TV18 that the global tech industry will have another two difficult years ahead. Afterwards, he says, there will be better times again.
According to Nadella, on the one hand, there will be a recession in some parts of the world. On the other hand, the increased demand for tech will slow down after rising during the corona pandemic. “We will have to adapt and ask ourselves whether we are efficient and competitive enough as a company,” said the interview with CNBC-TV18.
The CEO of Microsoft is positive about the long-term future of the tech industry. According to the man, more and more companies and industries would use technology and they will also need technological infrastructure in the long term.
Nadella also cites recent developments in AI. According to the CEO, artificial intelligence will provide a “paradigm change” in the next two to three years. Nadella also says knowledge work and software development will be “transformed” by AI. With regard to AI in general, he makes the comparison with cloud computing, which he believes also caused major upheavals in the tech industry in 2007 and 2008.
