Google stops subscription for buying Pixel phones in the US

Google has stopped its subscription for buying Pixel phones. That subscription for buying the telephone in combination with the purchase of services has existed for less than two years.

Current customers keep their subscription until the end of the term, but new customers can no longer take out subscriptions, notifies Google. The search giant introduced the subscription at the same time as the Pixel 6 phones in October 2021. In this way, customers could immediately combine services such as YouTube Premium and Google One in a bundle in addition to the phone. Pixel Pass was never released in the Benelux.

Google does not say exactly why the subscription is ending. A few years ago, it seemed like hardware subscriptions were about to take off. There were long rumors that Apple was working on it for iPhones, but beyond the bundling of services under the name One it didn’t come up until now. HMD Global, licensee of Nokia, has the subscription Circular.
