Vivaldi releases experimental browser for Windows on Arm architecture

Vivaldi has released a version of its browser for Windows on Arm chips. This is a preview that, according to the company, is still full of ‘serious problems’ and may not work properly, but it is still one of the most popular browsers that work on that platform.

Vivaldi writes in the release notes of version 3329.7 that in addition to the standard Windows 10, macOS and Linux versions, an ‘architecture preview’ will also be available for Windows on Arm64 architecture. “These builds are not yet part of our automated testing system and have only been lightly tested on a piece of hardware,” the browser makers write. “Serious problems can exist and should be expected.”

Google released earlier this year a version of Chromium off for Arm64 architecture, on which Vivaldi is based. There are still few PCs with an Arm processor that runs Windows, but that is expected to change later this year Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Then there will also be a greater need for browsers that are optimized for Windows on Arm architecture. In addition to Chrome itself, Mozilla is also experimenting with a Firefox variant for Arm. Edge and Brave also have experimental builds for Windows on Arm.

Version 3329.7 of Vivaldi also contains some bug fixes and improvements. The biggest improvement is that a Memory Saver option is built into the browser.
