New Apple HomePod still leaves ring on wooden furniture

Just like its predecessor, the new version of the Apple HomePod leaves a white ring where it stood on a wooden piece of furniture. This is evident from a video review of the device. The previous one did too.

According to reviewer MKBHD will it take longer before the new HomePod leaves a white ring on a wooden surface and the white ring is slightly less thick and has a different pattern, but it is still present and is permanent.

Upon the release of the first HomePod five years ago emerged soon after release that it leaves white rings on wooden furniture. Apple confirmed the issue and recommended not placing the device on certain wooden furniture. According to Apple, the ring disappears after a few days if the HomePod is no longer in place and otherwise cleaning should be enough to erase the traces.

Apple announced the HomePod two weeks ago as the successor to the five year old smart speaker. Compared to the predecessor, the power cable is now removable and the speaker has been given a thermometer and air pressure gauge. However, there are two tweeters and two microphones less than in the predecessor.
