OpenAI introduces a pilot subscription for its AI chatbot ChatGPT. This ChatGPT Plus subscription will cost $20 per month and offers, among other things, faster response times, early access to new features and general access to the chatbot, even during busy times.
OpenAI writes on its website that the ChatGPT Plus pilot will soon be available in the United States. The company will send invitations for the subscription service to users who have registered on a waiting list in the coming weeks. The AI company says that ChatGPT Plus will be available in other countries and regions ‘soon’, but it is not clear when exactly that should happen.
Users who take out a ChatGPT Plus subscription will receive, among other things earlier access to new features and improvements. OpenAI also promises faster response times and ‘general access to ChatGPT’, even at times when the chatbot is busy. The free version of ChatGPT will also remain available, OpenAI emphasizes. The company says it uses the subscription to support the provision of the free ChatGPT version.
ChatGPT Plus will cost $20 per month upon release. It will be the first subscription around the chatbot. The company says it is working on several other subscriptions. OpenAI reports on Wednesday evening that it is actively investigating the possibilities for cheaper subscriptions and business subscriptions. OpenAI also has a waiting list for a ChatGPT API.
OpenAI said earlier that it works on paid versions of ChatGPT ,the company is looking for ways to monetize its chatbot. References recently appeared for a ChatGPT Professional subscription that would cost $42 a month. However, that subscription showed the same features as ChatGPT Plus. So this seems to have been an error.
