Razer introduces a gaming mouse that is the new lightest mouse in its range. The Viper Mini Signature Edition weighs 49 grams thanks to a construction consisting of a magnesium alloy. Razer charges $280 for the mouse.
For comparison, Razer’s lightest mouse was the Viper V2 Pro, weighing 58 grams. The American company states that it has abandoned the well-known honeycomb design for the design of this mouse. In fact, the company criticizes that design, stating that that design suffers from “durability issues and inconsistency.” Razer promises that this should not be the case with this design, partly due to a zero-tolerance policy in terms of quality control.
The sensor in the Viper Mini Signature Edition is the Focus Pro 30K, which can also be found, for example in the Viper V2 Pro. Furthermore, the buttons are equipped with Optical Mouse Switches Gen-3 and the mouse uses Razer Hyerspeed Wireless technology for low latency signal transfer. The polling rate is up to 4000Hz. The battery should last 60 hours and can be charged in 90 minutes via the USB-C port.
According to reports on Ars Technica, for example the mouse will be available on February 11 via Razer’s website. Not sure if this also applies to the Netherlands and Belgium, but the European Razer Store does have a product page for the mouse.
