WhatsApp is releasing an update for iOS, making it possible to use picture-in-picture for video calling. This allows an iPhone user to use other apps during a video call, minimizing the video call.
Picture-in-picture is not the only addition to WhatsApp version 23.3.77 for iOS. The app release notes states that the update includes: allows you to include captions when sending documents. Longer topics and descriptions can also be added to group chats.
The PiP mode was already some time in beta and now being released for WhatsApp on iPhone. According to parent company Meta, the feature will be rolled out in the ‘coming weeks’, just like the other additions that the update brings.
Earlier this month, WhatsApp added the ability to post a voice message of up to 30 seconds as Status . You can also respond to a Status with emojis. From now on, users can decide for themselves with whom a Status is shared. Once again, the rollout to all users will take several weeks.
