Donald Trump is back on YouTube. The Google subsidiary announced this on Friday. The former president lost access to the platform after the storming of the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
YouTube Announces Reposting of Trump’s YouTube Channel on Twitter . “We carefully evaluated the continued risk of real-world violence, balanced with the opportunity for voters to hear equally from leading national candidates in the run-up to the election,” the company writes. YouTube emphasizes that its terms and conditions continue to apply to the account.
It is not yet known whether the former president of the United States will also use his access to the social medium. He got his Twitter account back late last year , and Meta followed suit earlier this year with his Instagram and Facebook accounts. However, he has not used it yet.
According to an SEC filing, Trump must post messages “in general” first on his own platform, Truth Social. Only six hours later is he allowed to publish the same post on another platform. To date, Trump has not done that at all. However, Rolling Stone sources say he wants to get out of that deal and go back to more popular social media. He could cancel the agreement in June.
