On March 31, the last update for Marvel’s Avengers will appear, developer Crystal Dynamics has announced. From September 30, all support will end and it will no longer be possible to purchase the game digitally. The multiplayer will still be accessible after that date.
The update that will be released in March will not contain any new content, Crystal Dynamics writes in its blog post. That means last November’s update, which released the Winter Soldier as a playable character, was the latest addition. However, from March 31, all cosmetic content will be made free. This includes things like outfits, emotes, and name tags, which previously had to be purchased with real money. By the way, the playable character Spider-Man, which was released in November 2021 only for the PlayStation systems, exclusively for Sony’s consoles.
After support ends completely in September, the developer says it can no longer guarantee ‘ that any problems that will then occur will be fixed. A clear reason for stopping the development of the game is not given. Crystal Dynamics only writes that the decision was made ‘together with our partners’.
Marvel’s Avengers is a fighting game that can be played both single player and co-op. The game was released in September 2020 for consoles and PC. In March 2021 a version for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X and S became available.
