Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have shown off nearly fifteen minutes of Dead Island 2 gameplay. Until now, only short bits of gameplay had been shown, without things like the interface involved.
The video shows things like firearms, melee weapons, unarmed combat, dodging maneuvers and using the environment to help take out zombies. In addition, quests are also discussed and we get a good insight into what Los Angeles with zombies looks like. The upgrade system is also briefly shown, where elemental damage can be added to weapons, for example.
Dead Island 2 will be a first-person shooter set in a zombie-overrun Los Angeles. Players can choose from six characters, each with their own special powers. In addition, the use of objects in the game world and the upgrading of weapons and your character play a major role.
Dead Island 2 has been in development for almost a decade and has been the responsibility of multiple studios. The game is due out on April 21 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Windows. Tweakers was able to play the game last summer and wrote a preview about it.
