Microsoft will close the servers of the first two Forza Horizon games on August 23. According to developer Turn 10, these games are played very little and in this way the studio can focus on its most recent games.
The single player mode of both games will remain available, but in two months it will be will no longer be able to view online leaderboards, browse and download player content, and race with other users online. Turn 10 further writes that, “due to the age of these games and their services, access to online functionality cannot be guaranteed before the closing date’.
The first Forza Horizon game was released in 2012 for the Xbox 360, and the second was released two years later for both the Xbox 360 as Xbox One. By the way, closing the servers applies to all versions of the games.
