WhatsApp is working on the ability to pin a specific message within a conversation. The company is now testing that in beta. This feature allows users to retrieve a message from the top of a conversation window.
The feature is in beta version 2.23.7.3 of the Android app, writes WABetaInfo , but is not yet available to every beta tester. In the update, it is possible to pin an individual message, just as it is now possible with a chat conversation with a contact. It’s not clear when the feature will finally become available or if it will in the first place, but that seems inevitable; Pinning messages is a highly requested addition by users.
WABetaInfo demonstrates how that feature works. Users can then bring up message options by pressing and holding the message. When users pin a message, a new icon appears with the message and the message appears at the top of a chat. It is not clear if that is only possible with a single message or if several messages can be pinned at once.
