The KNVB and start-up Revolt announce a partnership that will enable hundreds of Dutch amateur football clubs to receive free EV charging stations. Revolt places these posts for free, but in return the posts are provided with an advertising screen.
As part of the Green Club initiative, the Dutch football association wants to provide hundreds of football clubs with charging stations for electric vehicles by 2025. In this way, electric driving should be stimulated and associations can play an ‘active role in the transition to sustainable mobility and the reduction of CO₂ emissions’.
Football clubs can sign up for the initiative and then get the Hub charging stations, which are installed and maintained by Revolt. Hubs are charging stations containing a fairly large digital billboard. The image on the right shows a Revolt One, not the Hub.
In addition to the usual electricity costs , the start-up charges an extra ‘limited surcharge’ that is given to the associated association. The KNVB therefore speaks of an extra revenue model for football clubs. That money could then be reinvested in the further development of the association.
