Lenovo has quietly released a new version of its Tab P12 tablet. This variant has a paper-like coating over the display, which should give the impression that writing is being done on paper, instead of on a screen.
The appearance of the so-called Tab P12 Matte Display was noticed by Notebookcheck . Lenovo did not announce the release of the tablet in a big way and initially the tablet was only available in the company’s French webshop. The tablet is now also in the Dutch webshop, where it can be purchased for 499.01 euros.
New to this version is the paper-like coating of the 12.7″ screen, on which the Tab Pen Plus can be written on. Lenovo states that this coating gives the feeling of writing on paper and is easier on the eyes while reading or watching videos.
The Tab Pen Plus also differs. hardware hardly of the original version of the Tab P12, which is offered from 349 euros in the Lenovo webshop. The Matte version, like the original, has a Dimensity 7050 SoC from MediaTek. Furthermore the device will have 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage, a 10,200mAh battery and four speakers. The screen has a resolution of 2944×1840 pixels, just like the first version.
